Could you take a picture of yourself every time you lose 10 lbs. I can't. I barely convinced myself to take "before" photos ... and I think I was inebriated (or the photos inspired me to be shortly thereafter). But "HalfMan" has been doing just that for the last 14 months - during which he's lost over 120 pounds - and is just under 70 to go!
Over the last year, "HalfMan" has been steadily progressing along the path of healthy living. It's not an easy journey to get moving when you weigh 370 pounds. He's dealt with the aches and pains. He's a busy guy, with a family and can't always exercise like he wants and doesn't always eat well. But he presses on. He's moved on from feelings of being down in the dumps - and though life isn't perfect for him now, things are better overall. And - he's running races!
I asked him once what was his motivation to get started and especially to stay on track. "There was no motivational magic pill," he said. Which wasn't helpful. He "just did it." He excercises because he should. He eats right and avoids junk food because he should. He tells himself constantly - and signs off nearly every blog post with - that "Living Fit is my #1 Job!"
"So, I just keep telling myself this and changing my lifestyle."
He's got a little ways to go - and every post is a great inspiration to me to keep going, to stick with it, or to restart yet again. Because it is possible - and HalfMan is proof positive.
